A dietitian warns students from consuming an excessive amount of energy drink as well as any caffeine drinks such as coffee and tea, due to its dangerous addictive nature that might affect their academic performance. Most students think that consuming caffeine-based drinks during exam periods will help them to focus and keep studying till midnight. Even though, many studies showed that caffeine-based drinks have
an addictive nature which means that students won’t be able to focus properly without them. In this context, Huda Al Zara, clinical dietitians at King Selman Center for Kidney Diseases, confirmed: most students who are addicted to caffeine will get affected negatively and might become addicted to caffeine. In addition to that, energy drinks were made specially to stimulate the nerve system by using performance enhancing substances such as caffeine, Taurine And herbs like Ginseng and Guarana, as well as sugar, carbon substance and chemical additive such as Glycure. Finally, these substances won’t give you healthy energy , which is what you get from eating healthy food.
